Robert Barnett
Special Advisor to the Board

Robert E. Barnett is a retired attorney, experienced philanthropist, and longtime North Lake Tahoe resident with deep ties to Olympic Valley. A graduate of Occidental College and the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, Barnett practiced for many years in the San Francisco Bay Area representing disabled and injured clients and working on complex patient-care and medical practice issues. His legal career informed a lifelong commitment to access to care, patient advocacy, and community-focused leadership.
After settling in Tahoe, Barnett became actively engaged in civic and charitable work throughout the region. He has been a strong supporter of the Olympic Valley Foundation, where he serves as a special advisor to the board and contributes his experience in governance, philanthropy, and community development to help advance long-term initiatives benefiting Olympic Valley and the greater Tahoe area. His philanthropic work reflects a dedication to sustaining the Valley as a vibrant, livable place for residents, families, and future generations.
Barnett currently serves on the Tahoe Forest Health District Board and is seeking his third term. In his board role, he has emphasized collaborative leadership between physicians and administrators, meaningful engagement with medical staff, and a focus on high-quality, sustainable patient care for the local community. Grounded in both professional expertise and a personal investment in Tahoe, Barnett remains committed to strengthening local institutions and supporting thoughtful, community-centered decision-making across the region.
